Hi there! My name is Antonia or better known as Toni, my favorite part about working at Desoto Vet Clinic is connecting with your fur-babies and assisting each and every one of our pet parents on demand. It has always been a dream of mine to work around others that share the same love and passion for animals as I do. I have 3 doggies and a senior cat that I hold close to my heart! On my time off you can catch me ATV riding at Perry Lake or Ozark Arkansas. My ideal vacation is traveling back to my home roots "The Golden State" where I can spend time with my family and childhood friends.

Veterinary Assistant

Aaliya Smith

Hi, I’m Aaliya! I’m a 21 year old veterinary technician who started at the clinic with a year of experience in the beginning of January. While doing what I love here, my favorite things to do are help with the aggressive pets, do dental cleanings, draw blood, and learning while doc is operating. I’ve lived in basehor my whole life, but love traveling anywhere warm or with mountains. On my days off, I enjoy spending time with my crazy family, hanging out with other people’s dogs, being outside, and playing with my blue-eyed bengal baby, Leo.

Veterinary Assistant

Caley Clinkscales

Caley joined our team from the Wichita area and has now relocated to Kansas City with her husband and two boys, Alex and max,  and a mom to two soiled yellow labs; Duck and Crow.

If I’m not hanging with my family, I’m with my work family taking care of your amazing companions. Working beside an amazing Dr. and his staff is truly a wonderful feeling as we all love what we do. Working at De Soto Vet Clinic has taught me a lot. Dedication, compassion, and hard work. Those three things brings this clinic together as we all strive to be there for you and your companions!

I have been a technician for a long time. I have done everything from working in the clinic to pharmaceutical sales, research and emergency. I came back to work at DVC about a year ago when Laura asked me to come work a few hours a month for them. I live in Basehor with my four Weimaraners and a standard poodle. In my spare time, I love to read and participate in dog shows. I occasionally raise a little of Weimaraners as well.

Part Time Practice Manager

Marketing  | Doc's Wife

Laura Klima-Fehr

Laura—affectionately known as “Momma” around the clinic—is Dr. Matt’s wife and proud to call De Soto, Kansas home. Since settling here in 2020, we’ve been incredibly grateful for the warm, welcoming community that surrounds us. One of our proudest moments came in 2024 when we opened the doors to our new facility—an exciting milestone as we continue to grow and serve the families (and pets!) of De Soto.

I enjoy staying busy—whether that’s working, being outside, spending time on the lake, being surrounded by friends, or staying home to cuddle the dogs. Our household includes four beloved fur babies: Abby Lynn, Ripley Bear, Sophie Mae, and Charlie Beans (PigPig). Life has felt like a non-stop adventure since the day we met, and we are truly thankful for the blessings God continues to pour into our lives.

Part Time Practice Manager

Jason Guzman

Jason Guzman has joined our staff to take on the role as a Part-time Practice Manager. He brings a wide variety of experiences to the clinic.  He is especially passionate about creating a healthy work environment for his staff so that they can perform their best for all our clients and patients needs. Originally from Lawrence, Kansas, Jason has called De Soto, Kansas home for the past decade with his lovely wife Kate and five fabulous children. As a father of five, he jokes that he is a "skilled manager of chaos” – well-versed in multitasking, organization, and staying calm under pressure.  When he’s not at the clinic you will most likely find him running around Oak Country Golf Course here locally  where he also holds the title of Assistant Superintendent.

Groomer

Dana Haden

Raised as a Military Brat. Went to 4 different grade schools in 3
states. Met and married Kelly while we were students at Highland College. Adult children are Ella, Hannah, and Scott plus quite a few grandkittys. Furry children are Wally (dog) and Honey (cat). In spare time I love arts & crafts, the more glittery the better! Started grooming full time at Olathe Petsmart in 2014. Moved to DVC with Dr. Fehr in 2020.  My #1 professional trait is my patience with “aggressive dogs that have to be muzzled for grooming”, if you are willing to spend time and can communicate with the animal a good groomer can usually tell when the dog needs a break. My #1 fun trait is being able to blend my grooming and my arts/crafts in creating seasonal photo ops for my clients. While maybe not as valued by my dogs, I think the dog parents appreciate the photos.
